Biography

Trang Vo holds a B.M and M.M in Piano Performance from Eastern Michigan University, under the instruction of Dr. Garik Pedersen. As a student at EMU, she was an active performer, frequently playing in on-campus events including audition day introductions for prospective freshmen in 2012 and 2013, the VIP reception at the president’s house, four years presenter at the Undergraduate Symposium. Trang has also performed locally around the area, including at the Michigan Theater, a master class at the 2012 Michigan Music Teachers Association Conference, and gave a lecture-recital at Washtenaw Community College in 2014. As a recipient of many awards and scholarships, she is also a winner of the Barry Manilow Competition in 2013 after receiving second place in 2012, and is a winner of the Graduate Competition, 2017. Trang made her debut with the Eastern Michigan University Symphony Orchestra in 2014, as a Concerto/Aria competition winner. Aside from teaching piano privately since 2011, Trang holds a studio of 20+ students, diverse in age and culture at Expressions Music Academy.
